The Chinese Museum is pleased to launch The Arts Collective.

The Arts Collective aims to bring together artists and people of creative disciplines who wish to explore the cultural, historical and social dimensions of the Chinese Australian experience in innovative and contemporary ways.

The Arts Collective will operate in coordination with the museum’s collections and educational programs, and its network of commercial and government supporters, to provide opportunities that promote networking, skill and knowledge sharing, mentoring, and collaboration among art practitioners emergent and established. The Arts Collective will also explore economic opportunities for creative workers to build sustainable art practices in the context of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Arts Collective envisions a community of art practitioners committed to practical engagements with cultural practices new and old, and challenging issues of Chinese Australian experience, who are interested in developing their own abilities, and in reaching wide audiences, young and old.

The Arts Collective will provide regular activities including a newsletter, networking events and talks, and seminars and workshops by experienced art industry practitioners. Please see more about planned talks by art industry practitioners in our 2022 activities:
