The Chinese Museum will take part in the inaugural 2022 Melbourne Chinatown Multicultural Celebrations, by holding an open day with free Museum admission on 1st May 2022.

Enjoy these special activities free of charge:

Dragon Talks:  10.30am, 11.30am, ground floor, 20mins duration.

Traditional Chinese Music Concerts: from 12.30pm-3.30pm, ground floor  

Family Treasure Hunt: All day. Pick up your free treasure hunt map upon entry.  Fill out all the answers to receive your prize. Limit one per family.

Of course, you can also explore the Museum's extensive exhibitions on the history of Chinese immigration to Australia, life on the goldfields and the Han Dynasty also free of charge on the day!



Chinese Museum volunteer musicians, dressed in traditional Han costume, playing the erhu, hulusi, yangqin and guzheng at our Christmas in Chinatown 2021 event.

Visitors on the day, may also try their hand at one of these amazing traditional instruments.
