Singapore Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Delegation Visits the Chinese Museum

We were honoured to host the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) from Singapore at the Chinese Museum in Melbourne. The delegation was welcomed by John Petersen, CEO of Multicultural Museums Victoria (MMV), with Mark Wang, CEO of the Chinese Museum, providing a guided tour and sharing insights into the museum's vision and ongoing work.

John Petersen was accompanied by MMV members, Ferdinando Colarossi, CEO of COASIT Italian Museum; Mei Nee Cheong, CEO of Islamic Museum of Australia and Mark Wang, CEO of Chinese Museum with an introduction of MMA and each Museum. This was followed by a Q&A session with the Delegation.

Through the meeting and museum visit, the MCCY delegation aimed to gain a deeper understanding of MMV's collaborative network model. They were particularly interested in how independent ethnic and faith-based museums work together to celebrate multiculturalism and promote cultural diversity through exhibitions, educational program, and outreach strategies that engage a wider audience.

The visit offered a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen bilateral cultural connections, and explore strategies for fostering inclusive and vibrant communities through museum initiatives.

We look forward to continuing collaborations with MCCY and other international partners in the future.
