On 12 April 2026, the Hui’an Association organized a successful Fundraising Run at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, bringing together members of the community in support of the Chinese Museum.

The event raised a total of $51,680 in donations. Major contributors included Centreland Group, Bruce Wong, and the Bruce Wong Foundation. The Museum extends its sincere appreciation for their generous support.

The run also served to commemorate the approximately 16,000 Chinese migrants who, between 1857 and 1862, undertook the arduous 480-kilometre journey from Robe, South Australia, to the Victorian goldfields. This journey remains a significant chapter in Chinese Australian history.

The Chinese Museum thanks the Hui’an Association for their organization of this event, as well as all participants and donors for their continued support.
