The Museum of Chinese Australian History welcomed Jimmy Fong on Saturday 3rd of February, for a performance of Memories of Penang.

Jimmy entertained the packed house with songs and stories from a lifetime of learning and loving music, a show that leapfrogged across genres, from country to rock, and languages, from English to Malay to Cantonese, in an atmosphere that had everyone in the room clapping and singing along with Jimmy and his pianist, Neil Lemon.

Jimmy’s show was the first in a series of live events curated by the Chinese Museum for Chinese New Year 2024 and set a celebratory tone for the rest of the series.

The Chinese Museum thanks its sponsor of its Chinese New Year live events, the Melbourne Chinatown Business Association.
The Museum also thanks the Malaysian Consul General, Mr. Nik Muhammad Nasyron Syah bin Nik Daud and Mr Aflred Chi the Founding President of the Peranakan Association of Australia for attending.
