Herald in good fortune this Chinese New Year by learning how to write Chinese calligraphy, with the chance to write your own Hui-Chun 挥春 in traditional ink to take home, including Dou Fang(Fu)斗方 (福)  or  Chun Tiao 春条 (eg: “出入平安” Chu Ru Ping An).

Chinese calligraphy is an art to express feelings subtle and vast and thoughts swift and winding. Through the gestures of the hand and the suggestive forms of ink on the page, begin to learn how to convey your sense of the world through a beginners class in Chinese calligraphy, delivered by Ada Wang.

Ada Wang is an award winning Chinese calligrapher who has spent a lifetime practising the art of Chinese calligraphy. She has been awarded first prize in the Chinese National Television Calligraphy and Seal Carving Competition and the Tengwang Pavilion Cup competition. Her writing has been exhibited widely in China and Japan.

’Hui-Chun‘ (挥春) literally means spring blessing and is a traditional calligraphic artwork written on red at Chinese New Year time to wish upon the positive meaning of the characters written.
