Digital Cultural Adventures - VIC

Digital Cultural Adventures brings the Chinese Museum to your students!

Through exploring a themed collection of objects, images and stories, students can discover how Chinese-Australians have contributed to Australia's society and culture for more than 200 years.

Choose from six themed programs aligned with year level content that supports the Victorian Curriculum. The programs particularly support learning related to:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS – History)
  • General Capabilities - Intercultural Understanding/Capability
  • Cross Curriculum Priorities - Asia and Australia's Engagement with Asia.

Through the virtual, interactive, DCA programs, students can learn about Ancient Chinese innovations that changed the world, the legend of the Chinese dragon and its importance in Chinese New Year festivities, the Chinese people on the Australian goldfields, or participate in a Kung Fu class.

All programs are facilitated via Webex, Zoom, MS Teams or the video-conferencing platform recommended by your education authority/jurisdiction and are presented by experienced guides.

“An excellent presentation, moving at just the right pace, which thoroughly engaged the students. In a time when we cannot travel, this was a great way to experience the Chinese Museum.”  Grade 6 Teacher, Chairo Christian School, August 2020

Benefits include:

  • Cost-effective and accessible for all classes
  • Flexible delivery and conducted in your classroom
  • Curriculum aligned teaching and learning outcomes
  • Interactive activities to excite and engage students with age/level appropriate historic and cultural content, including fun pre and post activities.
